I’m so excited to share this one with you! Cake smash sessions are one of my favorite things to plan. Especially when it’s a theme I’ve never shot before. So, when sweet little Kolt’s mom asked me to plan a construction cake smash, I was ready! Hard hats, construction cones, trucks, and all the orange and black balloons I could find. I love how the double yellow line added the perfect touch to make it look like Kolt is the cutest little construction worker you’ve ever laid your eyes upon.
With cake smash sessions, I plan for one separate set before the big smash. It’s pretty self-explanatory that these little ones are going to end up a complete mess. Covered in cake and frosting. So, I don’t recommend wearing anything too nice because it’s likely to become stained. Having a separate set beforehand allows moms to plan a more formal outfit. I love the one Kolt’s mom chose for the buffalo plaid set. How adorable does he look in those worn jeans, suspenders, and bow tie?! Too adorable!
Good thing we planned ahead for proper outfits for the cake smash. Kolt did not hesitate to demolish that cake. He even tossed the cake across the construction set. Might as well end the session with a bang, right? Again, I loved this session. Adorable little guy, a fun theme, and he made my job so easy.
