NICU Preemie Turns One – Fries Family Sunset Farm Session – Willard, Ohio Family Photographer
I can barely contain my excitement to share the Fries family’s sunset farm session from yesterday. Yes, you read that right! I not only shot these photos on the Fries family farm in Willard just last night, I also spent most of today editing them. Because I love them so much! How could I wait to share these with you?!
When Katie reached out to me over Facebook messenger, she wanted to schedule a family session with a few photos to celebrate her little girl, Mia, turning one. I didn’t realize what an accomplishment this was until Katie explained to me that Mia was born a NICU preemie. Only recently graduating from the use of any supplemental oxygen, this girl has come leaps and bounds since her early arrival at just 25 weeks! What a tiny miracle you are Mia! You can see why this session is so special. I was thrilled to capture this milestone since they weren’t able to have newborn photos done during Mia’s 86 day NICU stay.
Mia is the happiest little girl. From the second I arrived, till the last photo was snapped, she didn’t fuss or whine once! This sweet girl was full of smiles and giggles. Mia, you are an absolute doll!
To give some perspective into Mia’s growth in the last year, Katie brought some baby items from Mia’s preemie days. The tiniest diapers and onesies ever. It’s crazy to think she fit in all these twelve months ago! A lot can happen in a year. And, as Mia reminds us, “God made me so that you can see small things are strong too!”
Sweet Mia, you are a true miracle! So much joy in such a tiny human. Your story is proof that we are stronger than we know. Can’t wait to see the growth and all the milestones you’ll hit in the coming year. Happy one year!
