This in-home newborn session will melt your heart. Last week I shared Erica’s maternity session and I’ve been dying to share these newborn photos ever since!
I spent an afternoon with Nate & Erica, and their adorable four children, in their Greenwich home capturing some gorgeous photos. Can I just say how much I LOVE walking through their house and seeing so many of my photos framed and on display?! Including the photos I just took for their maternity session! To know that these newborn photos will soon join makes my whole day.
When planning for an in-home newborn session, I tell parents to keep the mood as relaxed as possible. I want to capture these moments as true to life as we can. And, with all newborn sessions, I re-iterate that we work on baby time. For this session, I lucked out with floor to ceiling windows that gave us the most perfect light and a bedroom so beautifully styled that I swear, could be straight out of a magazine. It made for a perfect spot for them to snuggle and take in all the fresh baby smells of their sweet little guy.
For John-Luke’s posed photos, I decided to contrast the bright white shiplap by using their home’s original hardwood floors. Built in 1854, this home has so much character I just couldn’t resist using it as a backdrop. We had planned for warm, earthy tones and Erica planned a few newborn knit sets for the little guy to use for his close-ups. I just love this session from start to finish.
Enjoy a few of my faves!
