Classic Summer Wedding at Trinity Lutheran Church & The Colonnade – Sandusky Wedding Photographer – Tiffany Murray
Where do I begin with this one?! James and Maria’s wedding day wasn’t actually James and Maria’s wedding day until a couple of months ago. This sweet couple had to reschedule their entire wedding day plans due to the shutdowns earlier in the year. That would give a bride every right to be totally devastated and panic. Not Maria. Instead, Maria was the most fun and easy-going bride and I am so glad to have been there to capture her wedding day.
Every little detail of this wedding was perfect. Which totally makes sense if you know Maria. A high school math teacher, Maria loves symmetry, order, and laughing. She really loves laughing. In fact, her entire family does. It was infectious and I smiled like a fool with a mask hiding half my face the entire day.
We had planned to have a first look for James and Maria outside the church. The rain and humidity decided otherwise. But, our wonderful bride and groom rolled with it and we never looked back. You see, on rainy wedding days, I feel especially connected to my brides. Because I was a bride who planned an outdoor wedding on a day mother nature decided would be riddled with rain and storms. I got rained on. My wedding dress became a soaked mess. But, I still look back with fond memories of the moments. So, I can always reassure my couples that, one, I know exactly how they’re feeling. Two, it never rains 24 hours straight. And three, I will get rained on to give you outdoor photos, anyhow.
Thankfully I was right on the second point. Because when we arrived in Downtown Sandusky for their wedding portraits, the skies cleared slightly and gave us almost an entire hour with just a couple of random raindrops. Thank you Mother Nature! We decided that we could stray away from the pavilion and head closer to the lake since the weather was agreeing with us. After a couple of awesome shots lakeside, we headed to a little spot I had seen along the way. It may just become one of my faves! Maria danced and swayed in her beautiful gown, and I squealed a little inside because I couldn’t believe how much I loved the photos I got. These two, they’re so perfect for one another. It’d be apparent after spending just five minutes with them.
The Colonnade hosted James & Maria’s socially distanced reception. As always, Beth does the most amazing job at setting the ambiance and serving the most delicious dinners. This was no exception. The bride and groom laughed, cried, danced, and ate lots of cannoli. You couldn’t ask for a better time.
Congrats, again, Mr. & Mrs. Stewart! We hope you are as in love with your photos as we are. Here are some of our faves from your day!
