Jonathan & Julianne’s Windy, Sunset Engagement Photo Session at Lakeview Park – Lorain, Ohio
As I drove north toward Lake Erie, the sunny skies turned grey and rain fell. My heart sank a little. You see, this engagement session was in limbo as Jonathan and Julianne currently live over 600 miles away in South Carolina. We didn’t have an opportunity to reschedule since their time in Ohio was limited. And Julianne truly had her heart set on a sunset Lake Erie engagement session. I promised her, even if it did rain, I’d be there and we’d go with it.
Thankfully, mother nature played mostly?nice to us. Because as I got closer to Lake Erie, the clouds lightened and the sun started peaking through. Yes, Julianne was getting her beach session! Except, as we walked down toward the water, we were hit with crazy winds. But you know what? Better than thunderstorms, right? So, we went with it. And, oh my goodness, am I ever so glad we did. These photos! I’m not exaggerating when I tell you, these are some of my all-time faves!
When Julianne first inquired about planning her session at Lakeview Park in Lorain, I was immediately in love with the idea of having a rose garden just steps away from the shores of Lake Erie. A true photographer’s dream and the best of both worlds! Maybe the wind was actually a blessing in disguise as the whole park and beach were pretty empty. Something tells me that’s not the case at Lakeview Park because it’s just so beautiful! How perfect that we basically had the whole rose garden and beach to ourselves.
So many wins with this session. I got to check off an item on my bucket list: a Lake Erie engagement session. Even better, we had the most amazing sunset on display. I got to photograph in a rose garden which perfectly complemented Julianne’s beauty. The wind gave us gorgeous waves crashing on the rocks which in turn gave us gorgeous lake spray. I could go on and on. But I won’t. I’ll let the photos speak for me. Seriously…look!
